Andi
A father’s voice could be heard was pleading on the phone for his daughter to be accepted in our music group. I was reluctant at first. The class was full so I suggested putting her on a waiting list. The father hesitatingly explained that his daughter was severely hard of hearing. “Why didn’t you start with that? I’ll take her. You can come tomorrow.”
That is how Andi came to us. Her hearing is eighty percent deficient. Her imagination is phenomenal. We all liked her at once. Children chose her as partner for many-many performances. She listens to music with the help of a hearing aid, and feels it with her heart. On one occasion, she danced a solo to Corelli’s Badinerie. The music is one minute long. Andi asked for three replays.
First she was flying around happily, then she danced a scene which she later explained thus: “I was a mother, I was cleaning the flat, hoovering, I had a lot of things to do. But the postman rang, I was always disturbed, had to run to answer the door. I was a little bit angry, but not much because the music I like the music played.” So went her tale. Now let us see some of the pictures.
